For those of us who have spent our lifetimes working hard to build a future rooted in harmony, kindness, grace, hope, and service, the past few weeks here in the US, have been deeply challenging. Struggling to write a message for this newsletter I was drawn back to something I wrote in March of 2016 which grounded my thoughts. It speaks to this moment – and the critical importance of coming together in community, holding each other up when we are down, and remembering. Hard, yes, when there is huge disappointment and loss, but there is much we can do when we return to the roots of our medicine and continue to work at frequency shifting with harmony, hope, love and light.
In Acutonics Level I Donna addressed global amnesia, how it is far too easy to forget past evils, horrific crimes, and wrongdoing and that we must reclaim the ancient idea of Anamnesis, to remember the whole. This is the basis of Taoism, it is a concept that carries through time and many perennial traditions and philosophies, as an accepted universal truth. Anamnesis is the closest that the human mind can come to experiencing the freedom of the soul prior to its being encumbered by matter. The soul and individual consciousness coming back to its divine origins.
How do we come back to our origins – a sense of wholeness. Are we able to remember this feeling when we recognize the responsibility, we hold to help one another remember the whole, the Wu Qi, the Galactic Center, wherever and whatever that may be. It may be that the planets and the Galactic Center will not really change appreciably during this challenging time, or that they've already changed, as time is multi-dimensional and fluid. What is important is how we relate to these shifts — real, imagined, or energetic. Consciousness is also fluid it changes and shifts all the time.
As Acutonics approaches its 30th year much has changed and evolved yet we hold to our original purpose to provide education in an in-depth applied methodology that facilitates people's healing and the innate wisdom of the body to heal. We are not "healers", we assist others in their journey and their re-discovery of the inborn wisdom of the body to shift and repair. We provide tools that aid in this process (tuning forks, chimes, and gongs) and use them in combination with a 5000-year-old medicine. East Asian Medicine, TCM and Taoism are rooted in bringing the body into balance and harmony with the greater cycles of nature.
Acutonics is also rooted in psychology, where archetypes, myths, and the stories we carry with us offer keys to understand our soul's journey. Music theory and the intervallic relationship between two tuning forks also play a significant role. So, there are many more elements incorporated into Acutonics then a single note, frequency, or tuning fork.
But frequency is just one small aspect of a much bigger archetypal and energetic zeitgeist. The images associated with each planet and what they represent therapeutically does not change, although the way they relate to one another and perhaps some hard astrological aspects may bring challenges and opportunities.
Mars will continue to rule the head, but perhaps the headstrong warrior will shift focus to fight for democracy. Venus will always represent love, female sensuality, and beauty but in this time of change perhaps her energy is directed toward helping women find creative solutions to address the growing misogynistic culture and eroding of rights. Pluto, while representing the deep underbelly of humanity may also be a source to aid in finding the rich nuggets and hidden gems to build a better future. Mercury is a synthesizer and a mediator, and wouldn’t it be great if this energy is directed toward healing cultural rifts including our current political landscape, so that we are able to work to find common ground among warring people and nations. Hygeia the newest addition to our planetary sound family supports each one of us and all of the planets in finding their highest representation of health and hygiene, emotional and physical.
Perhaps if we look inward at what has unfolded in the US and the rising global unrest, Chiron as represented in the archetype of the wounded healer has much to teach us. As people who have chosen to work in integrative medicine, our responsibility is to maintain our roles as guides to others and to transcend the wounding within us to embody the healed healer/teacher. What will it take for us to feel whole, present, and available to those who are struggling. How can we address our own struggles and despair and provide hope to others.
The mythic and archetypal images linked to the planets are not just part of the Greco-Roman canon they can be found across time and throughout ancient and indigenous cultures. What can we learn from the past, how can we grow from this knowledge and not forget the valuable lessons that came before. How do we stop the Amnesia and embrace Anamnesis.
We are sometimes asked whether we will need to recalibrate our tuning forks to be in alignment with anticipated planetary shifts — our answer is a resounding NO, but perhaps as we travel deeper and deeper into inter-stellar space new frequencies will emerge and we will explore their relevance to health and wellness.
Frequency is just one small data point in a multi-dimensional Universe. What I propose that we hold in our hearts during this challenging time is that the wisdom of the ancients has been rediscovered and confirmed by modern science. We are made of the same material as the stars—and life is filled with infinite potential.
There is no one fixed point in time, no special alignment that makes it so. This is the work that each one of us does on a daily basis to live from a place of integrity, to recognize and work with our own limitations, to commit to growth and change. It is through doing our own work and gaining clarity that we are able to reach out to touch others. Impacting just one individual can and does make an exponential difference. This is the rainbow bridge embodied by the Chiron archetype that we try to model on a daily basis. Let’s get off our technology and genuinely talk to one another in meaningful, heartfelt ways.
We are not interested in being gurus or fixers, we don't claim that our frequencies are the only frequencies for there are many ways to approach Wu Qi. However, after nearly thirty years of clinical experience and research into the direct application of sound vibrations to the body the Acutonics community is in a unique position to help people navigate the profound challenges facing our planet. Let’s hold each other up and get on with the work.
We are deeply committed to aiding others in their journey — wherever it may take them. In this new age, the age of Aquarius, despite the challenges that Pluto brings, it is about communities coming together to hold energy, to work for the greater good, to recognize that no one person has all the answers, but that ultimately our purpose here at this time of great change is to make a difference in the lives, of people, animals, and the greater environment. It is our responsibility to live in integrity, with purpose, and an open heart regardless of the noise that abounds and distracts us from the purpose we have been called to in this lifetime.
