Julie Capozzi, Associate Acutonics® Practitioner

Please join me in congratulating Julie Capozzi on her recent completion of the requirements to become an Associate Acutonics® Practitioner. I met Julie through email, phone and Zoom, and was incredibly impressed with her background, commitment to teaching and her strong desire to take full advantage of an upcoming sabbatical to study Acutonics. She began her Acutonics training with Adrienne Irizarry and completed the remaining requirements under the direction of Senior Faculty Member, Carmen Cicotti.  Julie is well on her way to completing Module II.

Carmen wrote:  "Julie is such a joy to have in class. Her bright spirit and insightful questions always lead to fascinating discussions. As both an educator and practitioner, she brings her work with archetypes and intergenerational programming into her Acutonics practice, adding incredible depth to her learning."

Julie is currently a full-time Professor of Psychology and Sociology at Mount Wachusett Community College in Gardner, MA. She is also in clinical practice incorporating Acutonics®, Breathwork and Reiki. “I have included Acutonics in my private practice along with Breathwork and Reiki. I love the connection Acutonics can have with Breathwork. Clients love how the two beautifully work together!”

Commenting on early influences in her life, Jule wrote: “My immediate family and extended family are close, love and compassion were the cornerstones of my childhood. I am fortunate that I lived near my grandparents. My grandfather and I communicated mostly without words since he spoke only Italian. I learned from a young age how to read emotions and share the ‘we space’ of communication.

I am also very close to my two older sisters, and I have a younger brother. I also had an older sister I never met who died a year before I was born. She was 8 yrs old and died from having an allergic reaction to Chicken Pox. This tragedy shaped who I am today.”

In addition to time spent with family Julie enjoyed roller skating and bike riding, and she loved to learn new things. “I had an early love of exploring facts about the planets. In my twenties…I taught a gifted group of 4th graders at a summer camp a course on the planets; that was so much fun!”

With a love of learning, Julie received her undergraduate degree from Rhode Island College and her master’s in counseling from Boston University. She worked as a guidance counselor for many years prior to taking her current teaching position.

Commenting on how her work has changed over time she states: “I became very interested in the disconnect of psychology stating the attachment bond being the primary source of how we “create” our life stories. However, psychologists believe in childhood amnesia with the hippocampus not developing fully to age 3 to create and store our memories…how can this be? Only the holistic energy fields delve into the answers I craved about the importance of our reptilian brain, the amygdala for these early very important memories. The amygdala is also the source of implicit trauma memories.”

Julie found out about Acutonics from her neurological chiropractor, and with a Sabbatical from the college where she was teaching felt it was a perfect opportunity to study. “I love the science behind the beautiful sound therapy of the tuning forks. The planetary resonance within our bodies and the communication with our meridians.”

Julie practices at WellCare Chiropractic Center offering Acutonics, Breathwork and Reiki. In addition to Acutonics tuning forks she works with Hand Chimes, and Tibetan Bowls. She is accepting new clients in both Wilmington, MA and Wells, ME. “It sometimes takes a lot of convincing for the average bear to try new energy methodologies; especially since insurance does not cover it”, Julie commented.  However, Acutonics can be very relaxing; breathwork gets to the core of the issue a bit faster. Together they make beautiful “music”.

Taking time for fun and relaxation Julie enjoys walking the beach. “This is my place to connect with the divine, many shamanic journeys here! I kayak with my husband and daughter locally in Maine.  My little dogs give me much enjoyment. I love it when I can travel and visit my three granddaughters.”

Asked what’s next, Julie states: “Whatever door opens next. Never planned…always an adventure!
