Singing Bowls In Sound Baths
Outside of a personal sound treatment, singing bowls are also used for Sound Bathing. The following is a quick reference for using them as such:
- Opening the Session:
- Start by striking a large singing bowl to signal the beginning of the session. Encourage participants to close their eyes and take deep, calming breaths.
- Creating the Soundscape:
- Gradually introduce the sounds of different bowls, moving from one to another to build a rich, layered soundscape. Use both striking and rimming techniques to vary the sound.

- Sustaining the Atmosphere:
- Maintain a steady, continuous sound by alternating between bowls. Allow the sounds to ebb and flow, creating waves of resonance that wash over the participants.
- Closing the Session:
- Slowly decrease the intensity of the sounds towards the end of the session. Finish with a gentle strike on a large bowl, allowing the sound to fade naturally. Encourage participants to remain still for a few moments before gradually coming back to the present.
