Learning to Dance Along the Way

Carol was born on a military base in Fairbanks, Alaska to a Korean Mother and Polish father. Her father died when she was thirteen days old. Her mother disappeared, leaving Carol and her older brother with friends, who would adopt Carol and her older brother when Carol was 5. Only as an adult, 40 years after her adoption, did Carol learn that she has a younger half-brother and a very large Korean family within 50 miles of her current hometown. Her adoptive parents were Korean and Irish and they settled in her adoptive father’s home town of Bloomington, Indiana when she was 4. “Growing up biracial in rural America was an interesting experience in the 1970s. I never fit in. My peers couldn’t map me onto any social or religious norms of the time. My mother was Buddhist, my father was Baptist. I took kimchee sandwiches to school and wore a mix of Korean and Kmart clothing.”
Falling Back into the Light of Love through the Path of the Heart

In October, we are in the astrological time of Libra (September 23 – October 22), ruled by the planet Venus. During this cycle, we are influenced by the change of season from Late Summer into Fall, when the seeds of change we have planted in the Spring come to full harvest. As daylight shortens in the Northern Hemisphere we prepare for less light and it's a time to go inward. We also celebrate our luminous Harvest Moon and the planet Venus rising in the wee hours as our Morning Star of beauty and elegance.
A Profile of Senior Acutonics® Licensed Faculty Member—Joanie Solaini

“Law gave me permission to study sound healing and Acutonics®” Wait. What? That’s right. Joanie Solaini, Certified Acutonics Practitioner and Licensed Acutonics Teacher, who is helping to spread Acutonics in the UK and Europe, credits the years she spent earning her LLB and LLM English law degrees for getting her to the Mothership. “It helped me prove to myself that I could do the rigorous analytical thing. I’d been a musician before, which was following a passion, but a part of me felt under used. Law study really exercised those rational bits of the brain. And perhaps exorcised an inner critic? I’m not always sure where the line is between discernment and self-sabotage, but in this case, I could tell my inner critic to just pipe down. I jumped through the hoops, proved myself to myself, and now we’re taking a sharp right-brain turn.”
Venus: Harmony, Balance, Justice and Proportion

Venus residing in the sign of Libra is concerned with issues of self-worth, the interplay of opposites, and the desire for balance, justice, and uniting oppositional forces to promote true harmony and love. She also has roots to war and agriculture and of course there is her long-standing relationship with Mars the god of War, which brings an element of chaos to this dynamic, creative and highly generative relationship. Yet, it is often from darkest chaos that true creative inspiration emerges into conscious light. The creative process itself often involves darkness, turmoil, struggle, pain, fear, and risk, and yet the end result often emerges in a moment of golden splendor, not unlike Venus.
Autumn: Embracing the Abundance of the Harvest

We are writing this on the Autumnal Equinox and just after Mercury retrograde. What a great time of the year. Harvest is still being gathered, but you can see the cycle of waning in the plants and leaves. It is a time of balance, a pivot point between the yang energy of Summer and yin of Winter. In Chinese medicine Autumn is related to the metal element, but right now there is much Earth bounty as well.

"Acutonics ties together science, cosmology, biology, and psychology, while providing exceptional hands-on experience for practitioners. There is so much depth and new knowledge gained in every class, this work is deeply transformational. "
