West Coast Acutonics 2017 Acutonics Camp and Upcoming Classes

Katie Mink and Laurie Herron of West Coast Acutonics hosted the 4th Annual Acutonics Camp in Mt Shasta, California, July 28 – 31. Campers came from as far away as Taiwan and the Yukon and it was a wonderful, harmonious event with great food, excellent teaching, and mentoring. Jill Davis wrote: “Thank you so much for sharing your camp experience and beautiful lake with me! I took away a sense of peace and greater self-awareness that I truly needed. I'm looking forward to next year’s camp”.
Acutonics through the Prism of Russia’s Dr. Oxana Merimskaya

If it wasn’t exactly preordained that Oxana Merimskaya would end up in medicine, it was pretty close. Her mother and father were both doctors. Her late brother was a doctor. At four years old, she herself announced to her family that she wanted to be a medical doctor when she grew up. Her parents, in fact, met as doctors. Her mother served in the Soviet military as a surgeon, operating on the Western (Russian) Front of World War II. Her father, too, was in the military, also working as a physician. And even though they were in Yekaterinburg at the time of her birth, because her mother and father and her sisters and brothers were all born in Kiev, in what is now Ukraine, her mother made the trip back to Kiev just to give birth to Oxana there as well.
Planetary Insights and Intervals and the Virgo Stellium of September 2017

As summer wanes in the northern hemisphere, we move gradually towards Fall to first pass through what is referred to in the Five Element Theory as the season of Late Summer or Indian Summer. During this time, the Sun moves into the zodiacal constellation of Virgo, the Virgin Maiden, often seen with a sprig or bushel of wheat symbolizing the Goddess of the Harvest. Qualities of Virgo both reflect the ancient ruler, Mercury with thought and intellectual discrimination and the more recent ruler Chiron who brings hands on learning, apprenticeship, service to others and the pursuit of health. Sometimes Ceres (Demeter) is also associated with Virgo as she is the Goddess of the Harvest.
Tuning-In to The Power of the Microcosmic Orbit

In Acutonics classes we emphasize the importance of the Microcosmic Orbit as a Taoist practice of inner alchemy. The co-mingling of heavenly and earthly energies facilitated by the activation of the orbit is considered to expand our connection to Source and the knowledge of the eternal nature of our being. It’s a reflection of this eternal nature, manifesting in temporal reality. The practice of circulating qi in the Microcosmic Orbit acts to transform the denser energy of three-dimensional reality to a more etheric, higher frequency form of energy. It elicits conscious awareness of our nature as beings made up of light and information.
Mercury: The Swiftest Planet

On August 23, we entered the sign of Virgo ruled by the planet Mercury. As the innermost planet located closest to the Sun it is a planet of extremes; small, rocky and wildly elliptical. Its eccentric orbit may well contribute to the planet being associated with the fleet footed messenger of the gods, Hermes or Mercury. The energetic associated with Mercury is one of activation of mind and reason, communication and freedom of choice. The approximate musical note for the silver colored Mercury tuning fork is C Sharp and when combined with Ohm a microtone is created. The Ohm/Mercury microtone is excellent for getting in between the cracks. This interval definitely creates movement and dissonance; a little goes a long way.
Student Profile: Alanda Greene Kootenay Bay, BC, Canada

Alanda Greene, a student of Theresa Lee, was born in southern Alberta, on the edge of the city of Calgary, where she was close to both the mountains to the west and the prairie to the east. After completing her degrees in English and History and taking time to travel and reflect on the life she wished to have she moved with her partner to the mountains to live close to the land. “I had a sense of deep clarity that I wanted to live my life with meaning, creativity and purpose. We cleared a space in the forest, hauled rock, built a house and garden”, stated Alanda. She taught school for 24 years and then managed the bookstore at nearby Yasodhara Ashram where she also studied and taught yoga.

"The impact of this class has provided me with a way of expanding my practice in Hawaii. I have a deeper understanding of the meridians as well as being made aware of the art of creating a healing space for patients. Sue (Wadden) is fabulous and articulate. There was a lot of Aloha in this class"
