I love to travel. In fact, I am passionate about travel especially when I can be an ambassador for sound healing and Oriental medicine. Wherever I travel in the world, the Acutonics tuning forks come with me. The inconvenience of carrying them is completely surpassed by the deep satisfaction I experience when I see how these far-reaching vibrations transform people. No matter where in the globe I travel: USA, Spain, Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Bhutan, Nepal, France, Italy, Japan, China, Bali…everybody responds to and resonates with this work. Providing a very clear message: we are all ONE, connected to each other and to the Universe in that magic WEB. The vibration of the forks takes us back to that union that might have been forgotten. We get reset by the forks’ experience. Our consciousness and awareness are raised.

In Bali, my dear Ibu Putu cried of happiness when I sounded the Ohm forks around her head. She kept saying OM, OM!! She placed her hands in prayer position and retreated into herself, tears flowing down her cheeks. She emerged eyes shining, with a broad smile on her face, saying how the sound was OM. It transported her to her Hindu temple, to God. And yes, the forks were the Ohm forks, but I had not told her anything about them. She followed me, and the forks, this powerful vibration, for my entire stay in Bali.

In Spain, my family and friends await their sound sessions. They know very little about sound or vibrational healing but they love music, rhythm, dancing and singing flamenco. This may account for the transformation they experience in every session! For instance, my dear cousin, a true non-believer, is an insulin-dependent diabetic that enjoys life fully. He eats, drinks, and parties, with little regard for his health. When I used the Acutonics tuning forks with him he couldn’t find the words to express the power of the session. He just kept repeating that it was the most amazing experience of his life. He was totally puzzled, looking at me with new eyes, longing eyes.

My forks’ latest travel adventure was to Ecuador with Acupuncturists Without Borders (AWB). This journey supports the vision that Donna and Ellen have to bring Acutonics all over the world, but especially to underprivileged indigenous societies. Under the AWB banner, a group of practitioners traveled extensively through key cultural and ecological areas of the Highland and Amazonian Ecuador.

We met with healers of different Kichua-speaking communities, we exchanged healing sessions with local shamans; we treated over 900 people! The treatments followed the NADA protocol of auriculotherapy, where 5 needles are placed in each ear. Where did the forks fit into this scenario? What was I doing there? Diana Fried, the AWB founder, had experienced the forks and supported introducing them into the AWB training and treatment sessions. It was up to me to see how they could be used in this context. Kairos Institute donated Acutonics tuning fork sets for me to distribute to individuals.

The first treatment sessions were the most challenging experiences of my life as a practitioner. The word had been well spread that some volunteer doctors were in town. The town authorities and other organizations had set up the venue, a gymnasium/community center. There were more than 300 people waiting when I arrived.

Stunned and momentarily immobilized by the sheer volume of people waiting to be treated, the team leader asked me how I was going to work with the forks. For the first time in my life I was speechless! Nothing had prepared me for what I saw. Asked how long I needed for each treatment. I automatically said: minimum, 20 minutes. The team leader laughed. “Do you see how many people we have? If you cannot do a treatment in 7-10 minutes, forget about the forks!” That’s all I needed to hear to set a new world record for the most Acutonics treatments per hour! Jokes aside, in that first healing session, I truly realized the power of the forks, intention, inspiration, and being present. I did what I had to do. More people, less resources, less time, more efficiency, less mind, more heart. It worked.

As more people saw me working, more and more wanted to receive the forks. The vibration spread in the room. I attended my allotted group plus all the children and those that required more specific care and of course, the needle-phobic.

In the days that followed, my brain/mind was out of the picture. Anyone who knows me will recognize how extraordinarily hard that is for me to do. I treated according to context. In one session, we only had 10 minutes left since the bus (our transportation) was leaving. The acupuncturists doing the NADA treatment had finished but I still had many people waiting that had begged me to treat them with the forks, to just touch them. We were outdoors, at the main plaza, they were sitting on concrete benches at the bus stop under the blinding Ecuadorian sun. I just went ahead and did group treatments! I used high frequency tuning forks, wrapping people in sound and connecting them with a light touch of the low frequency forks. The older women closed their eyes, placed their hands in prayer position and started praying! Just like my Balinese friend Ibu Putu!

In the Amazanga community, with the Kichua-speaking people of the Puyuc Runa heritage, the forks found many followers among their children.

The AWB team started calling me the Pied Piper. I encouraged the children to take the tuning forks, sound them and listen to them. While I worked with one child, I let the others work with each other. One little girl took the full Moon fork, listened to it and exclaimed: the Moon! This sent chills down my spine and it still does when I recall it.

The work in Ecuador is just beginning. We, AWB, the forks, are going back to train Ecuadorian people in the NADA protocol, in basic acupuncture, qi gong, self massage, and Acutonics. Diana asked that I take charge of organizing this task. We promised the people we would return. I am determined to make this happen. I know I will be able to do this with additional volunteers from the Acutonics community!

What is next for the forks? My tuning forks and I are heading to Leadville, Colorado where I will be part of the crew for my bike-racing husband Andy at Leadville 100 “the Mountain Bike Race” (Lance Armstrong will be competing too). At Andy’s request I will be using my Acutonics tuning forks in every stage and venue I can.

In August I’ll join AWB for a trip to Nepal to train healthcare workers and set up clinics. I am sure the monks will recognize the Ohm forks…I’ll keep you all posted.
